Hi! My name is Lauralyn
I am a Teacher
Living with a rare neurological condition led to my deeper study and understanding of the nervous system and its impact on overall health and well-being. What I teach is an integral part of my self-care practice. I’m passionate about helping those struggling with stress and mobility challenges experience the wellness benefits of therapeutic yoga and a mindfulness practice.
I created the first therapeutic yoga program for wounded soldiers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving Womack Hospital, MWR and the Warrior Transition Battalion. I was also a member of the U.S. Army Volunteer Corps. Prior to working for the military, I owned a wellness studio in Southern California where I taught yoga and meditation classes and Reiki teacher training certification. I've taught yoga at corporations, wellness clinics, wellness events, schools, and non-profits including The Boys and Girls Clubs Of America.
I’m certified in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Mat Pilates, Mindfulness Meditation, Reiki and Cognitive Behavioral Coaching. I received additional specialized training in Yoga for PTSD, Kundalini Yoga, and several other techniques. I attended Marymount Manhattan College and State University of New York where I studied Communications, Political Science and Psychology. Before venturing into wellness, I was a journalist and freelance writer. My latest published work is The Dove Deck, which I use in my practice and is available to purchase in the shop.
